I would buzz it on the sides at about 3/8inch and then on top about 1/2 inch. It will look great! Thats how I do my hair and its way better than when i had curls man. :D Plus you don't have to shower evrey morning. Cause your hair doesn't stick out everywhere. i think you should definitely go for a 1 guard on the sides and about finger length on top... i would come up with something else to strategically cut into your hair... be yourself... what do you like, are you good at anything... let it all show through your hair... and cutting lines on the side will depend on your ears... you don't want to draw more attention to them if they are big. so choose your design wisely and make sure the person cutting actually knows how to do the service.
