Shaving facial hair for men?

my boyfriend breaks out very bad after he shaves. not always white heads or black heads. but ingrown hairs sometimes and just really bad bumps. hes african american (if that detail is necessary) and he is basically willing to try anything. how do you shave? what do u use? he uses an electric razor. what shaving cream is best? any tips or tricks would be great. thanksShaving facial hair for men?
Is he going against the grain? You need to shave in the direction the facial hair grows to avoid ingrown hairs. Tell him to rub his face where the hair grows, downwards and upwards. Whichever one gives the smoothest feeling is the direction he should shave the hair.

I like to use gillette shaving foam with Vitamin E and a manual razor. Shaving gel will probably work well for him and provide a protective coating for the skin.Shaving facial hair for men?
1. make sure to exfoliate first, it'll rid the dead skin that can clog pores and cause breakouts and ingrown hairs

2. make sure the hair is wet, also try putting conditioner on the hair for a few min to soften it up

3. use a new razor (non-electric) and a good shave gel

4. shave with the direction of the hair

5. wash with an antibacterial soap afterwards to prevent ingrown hairs and follow with a light, non-greasy lotion (lubriderm works great)

after a few times of doing this, his face will get used to the routine and become less and less prone to ingrown hairs
Black guys seem to get these a lot, probably because the hair shaft curls a lot. If I were him, Id let it grow out a few days, and then try a different razor, then another til he finds one that works. Ingrown hairs are caused by the hair curling before it exits the skin, so something that doesnt shave as close to the skin might actually work better for him than something that shaves very close.
my boyfriends secret is to use lotion as a shaving cream!

It works wonders!

It may sound strange but if u and excessive amounts of lotion onto the face, then use it as a shaving foam substitute, it will work, and it will come out smooth!!!!!

Anything 2 keep our hubbies faces clean aye?

:P

Hope I helped,

xoxo
He needs to let the ingrown hairs grow out then shave with either magic shave or shavers choice.....Electric Razors thats a HUGE NO NO!! Personally I use shavers choice...But I use to use magic shave NEVER use the Magic shave you have to mix this stuff smells AWFUL purchase the one pre-mixed. Go here to get some additonal info!

The best to use really is gillette sahving foam which loosens hairs before shave for a clean and easy shaving session

never shave upwards (or avoid)- you have a greaterchance of CUTTING yourself
check this dermatology site:
